What can the Gap Index not tell me?
The Gap Index is a summary. It is not a trade offer. It is not a forecast.
- It uses only stocks that pass the checks. Thin pools are left out.
- Weights come from pool depth. Depth is not safe order size.
- A stale quote is left out. So the count can drop fast.
- One deep stock can drive the mean.
- A reading older than 60 seconds is marked
old. - Null means no stock was usable. It is not zero.
